Special Events Pen Collecting Seminars Seminar
1 Objective: To provide a wide overview of Dunhill-Namiki
and Lacquer Pens with emphasis on vintage Namiki, and Pilot Maki-e
as well as an introduction to newer Namiki offerings. David has written articles for STYLOPHILES-ON-LINE, and is a regular contributor to STYLUS MAGAZINE. Recognizing that this field of collecting
has grown increasingly
popular, new collectors tend to shy away from vintage pens,
due primarily to a lack of information. David will display Photos of
previously unknown treasures, as well bring interesting This Seminar is meant for both new and advanced collectors. A lively question and answer period will follow. Seminar 2 Deb will offer a guide for new collectors, beginners and folks interested in fountain pens. This will include fountain pen history; a discussion of the four big manufacturers; various ink-filling systems; how to choose a pen; how to use different nibs. Deb has been collecting for twenty years. She is co-founder of the Triangle Pen Club. She has been repairing and restoring pens for eight years and recently began grinding custom nibs. Space is limited so registration recommended. |
